Holst Centre / IMEC-NL focuses on research and development of autonomous wireless sensor nodes (WATS). It is one of the front-runners in the international research on sensor systems. In the framework of H-Inception, IMEC-NL will develop, test, and apply the multi-sensor multi-domain tools to its medical (on-body and implant) sensor platforms. More specific, IMEC-NL will focus on :

  • Development of signal processing algorithms that improves upon state-of-the-art multi-sensor and multi-domain algorithms.
  • Exploration of signal processing algorithms that have the potential to fulfil the requirements of the medical sensor nodes. The use of the signal processing algorithms will be carried out using the H-Inception design methodology and environment tools.
  • Realization of proof-of-concept demonstrator

This project strengthens the Dutch ecosystem in sensor networks; which is a focus area of Holst Centre / IMEC-NL. The H-Inception methodology and tools will accurately predict performance, and shorten design cycles of multi-sensor multi-domain systems. Multi-sensor wireless systems are expected to have very high growth potential in coming years.
