I received the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering and the Ph.D. degree from Université Paris Sud, Orsay, (Paris XI), France, in 1983 and 1986 respectively. In 1986 I joined the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), France. I started at Fluids, Automation and Thermal Systems Laboratory, Université Paris Sud-CNRS, while teaching electronics. In 1992, I moved to the Computer Science Laboratory (LIP6, formerly known as MASI), University Pierre et Marie Curie (now Sorbonne Université SU)-CNRS, France, while teaching VLSI.
My research interests are mixed signal oriented, they include design automation of analog and mixed-signal circuits and systems with Free and Open Source (FOS) Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools, A/D and D/A conversion, as well as mixed signal system security. I contribute regularly to the FOS EDA tool chain Coriolis developed at LIP6.
Most of my research activities have been supported by contracts, through academic and industrial cooperative projects in the framework of the French ANR, European FP7, French Nano2012, Eureka/MEDEA, Catrene and Eureka/Penta, and H2020 Projects.
I am the Scientific representative of Sorbonne Université in the European Consortium and Support Action (CSA) GoIT (2022-2025). The project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101070660.
I have served on the Technical Program Committee of Design, Automation, and Test in European Conference (DATE) and several other international conferences.
In 1998 I co-founded the AVERTEC company, as a spin-off of University Pierre et Marie Curie, with former LIP6 students, based on their PhD results on Static Timing Analysis. The company closed down in 2010.
Since 2010, I have been a member of the AMS Working Group of Accellera Systems Initiative and a contributer to the standardization the AMS extensions of SystemC.
In 2020 and 2021, the FSiC Conference was cancelled because of the coronavirus pandemic.
In 2022, we launched again the FSiC2022.
